Metal Detector: A Simple App to Measure Ambient Magnetic Field
Metal Detector is a free Android app developed by Crunchy ByteBox, falling under the category of Utilities & Tools. The app is designed to measure the ambient magnetic field in micro Tesla (µT) and display it on your device. The app offers various features, such as selecting your favorite layout colors, three different designs to visualize the measurement, vibration or sound feedback when a certain value is reached, variable sensor sensitivity, and the ability to display the values of the x, y, and z axis. The display can be kept active optionally, and the app can be moved to the SD card.
The app requires the VIBRATION permission to provide vibrating feedback when the magnetic field reaches a certain value. The INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions are only used to display ads, and the app is entirely free to use. The accuracy of the measurement depends on the sensors of your device. From time to time, the device should be calibrated by drawing an eight in the air with your device.
